Leadership for Every Student

Contra Costa County’s students deserve opportunity, safe schools, and a strong future. As a lifelong educator, I know what it takes to strengthen our schools and support the educators who make student success possible.

Now, I’m ready to bring that experience — and my unwavering commitment to students — to the Contra Costa County Office of Education.

Why I’m Running
Every child deserves a safe school, strong literacy foundation, access to real-world career pathways, and educators who feel valued and supported.

This campaign is a movement to build a future where every youth — in every community — can learn, grow, and thrive.

My Commitment
I’ve spent 25+ years solving the very challenges our students, educators, and families face today. Whether it’s ensuring safe schools, creating STEM In-Living Color, leading countywide transformation efforts, coaching school leaders to strengthen teaching and learning, or building pathways that support people who want to become educators, I’ve always stepped forward when change was needed.

As County Superintendent, I will bring that same energy, collaboration, and accountability to the County Office of Education — ensuring funding and supports are kept closest to COE classrooms, investing in the educators who power our schools, championing high wages and developing strong professional pathways for current and future educators across the county, and partnering with families as essential voices in every student’s success.

Most importantly, I will listen to the voices of children — their hopes, fears, ideas, and dreams — because students should always be at the center of every decision we make.

My commitment is simple: every decision, every partnership, and every investment will be driven by what is best for students and those who serve them every day.
